2023 Curly Hair Artistry Live Trainings

CHA has 2 trainings to let you know about this year 2023...so far.

#1) We have Maine Live Training open for July 23-25 with Sunday & Monday 9-5pm and Tue the 25th 9-12 at Soca Maine with Curl Boutique hosting at their beautiful 1800's Victorian House/salon.
#2) Next up is Denver Colorado on Sept 17-19 with the same format & hours with the location at Devana Salon
CHA is one of the few trainings that offers live models to work on, product knowledge along with The MAP Method of applying products and custom Cubist Cutting with a focus on wavy and curly hair. I am always humbled that hairstylists sacrifice their time, energy and finances to attend a Curly Hair Artistry (CHA) Live Training.
A young lady from Brazil - near the Amazon, a stylist from Ireland, a young man from UK and stylists from around the USA including Texas, Portland Oregon and more....all to advance their level of understanding in building their own brand as a curly hair specialist.

Can Hair Be Extroverted or Introverted?
Good day everyone.
When people come into my studio or attend one of my live trainings they discover quickly that I am an introvert.
Because I am found online, or that I have a social media presence, create videos or speak in front of others they think that I am an Extrovert.
When I started my online presence I was behind the computer writing. I failed English twice and even went to Summer school to make sure I moved on to the next grade - so, for me to write and get found in searches for help is amazing in of itself. It proves that if I can risk putting myself out there with my failed background....so can you.
What happened over time as people read my blogs and business Facebook page providing free content is that I was asked by other hairstylists to teach my methods to help them with their business and so I started what is now called Curly Hair Artistry.

Curly Hair Artistry - What Makes Us Unique?
One thing I have noticed in our industry that is different and determines the success of your business is not being considered much and that is the power and voice of your client.
For people with wavy/curly hair - the 'consumer' - the 'client' - is over-riding our industry with knowing how to work with their hair. Yup - read that one again.
There are so many communities, website forums, Facebook groups/pages, Instagram influencers and local meet ups that have been created and perfected based on one thing: LACK OF SERVICE & HELP FOR WHAT THEY DESIRE.
Lack of service to help and serve them has driven the desire for help and shifted this from hairstylist/salon to EACH OTHER.

Why Does Curly Hair Make A Triangle?
Hairstylists going to Cosmetology School learn basic layering methods and how to use products on all types of hair and then our own industry continues on with these basics to expand on them for the rest of our career at trade shows.
When you take hair that has a tendency to expand and apply shampoo to it - it will expand even more.
When you use traditional layering methods on hair that expands it will create a puffy triangle.
When you take a puffy trinagle and apply gel to it - it creates a hard shell that is wind-proof and crunchy.
Your clients frustration comes into your salon and sits down wanting help and without proper care for assisting them can create frustration inside of you.
This is not good for building business or creating a salon environment of helping people.
Technically correct methods designed for straight hair - used on curly hair - creates visual imbalance when worn in its natural state.
